The 5 Plants you Need for your Bedroom

Plants you Should add to your Bedroom | Luxuriously Thrifty

Houseplants are taking center stage for decor and health benefits around the home. When I first moved into my home, I had zero plants. Then, I had two. Then, I had one in each room. Now, I’m excitedly picking out a new plant every time I end up in Rona. But, just like everything in life, some plants are better in areas than others. These are 5 plants you must have in your bedroom (or at least one of them):

Why you Need Aloe Vera in your Bedroom | Luxuriously Thrifty

Aloe Vera
This bad boy is a classic that brings back memories me of at my Baba’s with a sunburned back. Why use aloe vera gel from the store when you could crack open a leaf and slather on that gel right from the source?
Not only does it have great skin uses (once my plant is big enough, next DIY experiment will be aloe vera creams and soaps!), antioxidants and minerals, but it also is a wicked air purifier.

Lavender
All you have to do is smell a lavender plant to realize its calming effects. Lavender is used in all kinds of skincare products, cooking, and for calming anxiety.
You can try starting lavender from seed, but if you’re like me and have tons of trouble, picking up a plant at any greenhouse will bring a little ‘ahhh’ to your bedroom.

Put this plant in your bedroom to lull you into slumber.

Cactus
Sometimes, a plant in the bedroom doesn’t need to have 100 different uses and benefits. Just adding an aesthetically pleasing plant your bedroom can boost your mood and make you feel better.

Houseplants can relieve stress, letting us get a tiny dose of Forest Bathing when we can’t get out into a vast expanse of nature. Even just one, or two, plants can change your home.

English Ivy
Another excellent air purifier, the English Ivy not only looks adorable spiraling down from the ceiling or a high shelf, but keeps your bedroom clean and fresh.
Basically, the main trend in excellent bedroom plants is air purification. And, why wouldn’t it be? Who wouldn’t want to have a wonderfully clean, fresh, and calming bedroom?

A Palm
I got my first palm only a few days ago and it’s already changed my life. Yes. You read that correctly. A plant changed my life.

Well, it made my living room much easier to breathe in (I never knew this was a problem before bringing this palm in) and napping under the leaves is just so damn relaxing. Mine is in my living room, but if you can fit this bad boy in your bedroom, the benefits are huge. Not only is it a humidifier, but it is calming to look at, and gives you all that good good oxygen.
